Range Finder

Range finder is a device that measures distance from the observer to a target. Some devices use active methods to measure (such as sonar, laser, or radar). There are other devices that measure distance using trigonometry to determine distance. They usually use a set of known distances or target sizes to make the measurement.

Laser Range Finder
Laser range finder is an electro-optical instrument whose operation is based on an echo principle employing an infrared light pulse of high intensity. When the instrument is triggered, this short, invisible light pulse is transmitted along a very narrow path. On hitting a target, a small portion of the transmitted light is reflected back along the path towards the instrument where it passes through an optical system to a receiver. The range of the target is determined by the time interval elapsed from the moment of transmission of the pulse to the moment of reception of the returned "echo" from the target.

The unit can also be mounted on a light-weight tripod and goniometer in order to obtain elevation and azimuth angles of targets.

Night Vision Gear carries selection of quality Bushnell range finders, as well as laser range finders and rangefinder binoculars in various price ranges.
